If there is sufficient evidence, officers may arrest and charge a suspect. The suspect may be released on bail (released with restrictions) or kept in custody until the court case begins.
Police officers will establish how and when you would prefer to be contacted, and will also discuss which methods you will be informed with throughout the whole investigation. If an arrest is made, you will be informed of the outcome, any court appearances or bail conditions.
